How Lisa and Paul met told by the Bride, “Shamelessly, I love this story. Paul and I met at a friend’s birthday party in Newport (We weren’t set up, because I had a boyfriend at the time). It’s funny because it was supposed to be a “girls night out” type of birthday party….so Paul shows up and was the only guy there. I thought to myself, “who is this guy crashing girls night?!” We moved the birthday party to a local Newport bar, where Paul followed close by and asked if he could buy me a drink. Having a boyfriend, I said no. Paul sheepishly replied, “Oh….well…I already did”, and passes me his preemptively purchased drink hahaha. Out of pure coincidence (or fate), I actually broke up with my boyfriend the next day. Having mutual friends, we started hanging out more. He was my New Years kiss, asked me out the next day, and the rest is history! Fun fact: the night after we met, Paul told his mom he had met his future wife :)”
When it came to the engagement, Lisa tells the intimate details, “I have short Friday workdays, so I came home around 3pm. As soon as I walked through the door, Paul was there to greet me. He had decorated the entire apartment with flowers, champagne, sweets, and strawberries. He immediately got down on one knee and said beautiful words about our relationship and me. He had made dinner plans at my favorite restaurant and then drinks with my best friends. It was so intimate and perfect.”
